This game is such a great escape. It's easy to become your character and live the life of being in the wild west during the Gold Rush! :) I've gone back to replay a few times over the years - it's like reliving an adventure. I wish there were more like this!
This series is awesome! Really love the old west storyline in this one.
Even though this is the third game, it was the first one I ever bought. I like the premise of the game but even as a seasoned gamer, in all aspects, I still couldn't get the hang of it. It isn't a bad game, per say, it just seems really hard for what it is. I couldn't get the hang of the game play nor could I work out how to not die, again, and again, and again. In fact, maybe I just completely stink at Westward and should give up, but definitely give it a try. It's fun and challenging, and if I didn't stink at it so much it would of got 5 stars easily.
Build a city, help your neighbors, take care of the bad guys and find gold. Though not my usual type of game I love this series and have had all of them for a long time. The replay ability is very high. Yes there is a timer as mentioned but only for the certain elements in each chapter and these are optional. Then you will be given many tasks that you will do at your own leisure. This is not a TM game in the strict sense. Play as a woman or a man. The characters through out the story all have something to say and are actually quite funny. Go ahead...poke them. This game is also one with LOTS of easter eggs. Each time I play I discover hidden places or items. This is one to keep on your desktop and return to anytime. I recommend you give it a try.
