Although this game starts out a little slow, it picks up a rapid pace and the demo will leave you hungry for answers. The Secret Order has just inducted their newest and youngest member, and because he is filled with anger and has a thirst for revenge of the people who murdered his parents, he has gone rogue. He now has access to the sacred mask with all it's evil powers and without the scepter that was stolen centuries ago to balance the powers, he may be unstoppable! It's up to you, the daughter of one of the secret five, Sarah and a close friend, the museum director, to stop him and restore the balance. As you investigate the museum you will find the original ship in hiding behind secret walls. This is no ordinary ship, this is a vessel capable of traveling back in time! After you find all the parts to make the ship work you set a course back to ye ole times to find the person responsible for stealing the scepter. Great story right? Also included are crisp clear graphics, cutscenes that are movie quality, and clever and new mini games. My favorite puzzle involves several gears one of which you must move through other gears blocking the path with the correct openings allowing your gear to pass but you have to pass the gear over the gear beside to manipulate the gears opening to allow your gear to move through. It sounds complicated, but it's actually not, it's just fun! There aren't a lot of HOS and in my opinion the items are way to small. There is a map for traveling, but it is in your journal and you have to open the journal, then click on the map tab to open up the map which indicates where there is an available task by an exclamation point. This is a good version of SE worthy of a credit or a purchase, see for yourself, I think you'll agree! Enjoy!
Above all I liked the nice modulated voices. No unpleasant American accents here (sorry folks). All the characters were nice and the scenery lovely. It wasn't a hard game but it was entertaining and involving. It was a good length and there was a map to travel by and a baby griffin to fly up and get the high up things. All in all a very enjoyable way to spend some spare hours.
I like the voice overs and the hidden object games to find the objects :) The hints are fantastic throughout this game, used it most of the time (cheating I know) :-) but I got stuck and didn't know what to do with that object!!! The music in the background is awesome and freaky at times throughout this game.
If you're tired of the same ol' stuff and want something that is truly state of the art, this is it. I'm in the midst of playing The Gold Bug Collection and couldn't do it for one more minute. I needed something that would stretch my imagination. How lucky I found this. This is an adventure game, first and foremost. The story line is spooky and the elements of the game support this: The Music alone keeps you on the edge of your seat; the lighting/set direction is done by a master of his art as the feel of the game is scary and finger-nail-biting good. The voice-overs are done by excellent voice actors who are are REALLY acting. I think the games are well constructed and a challenge. They are essential to the progress of the story, moving it forward, as opposed to being time-wasters. You've not played anything like this so it's very hard to compare it to another game. Please suffice it to say that I was hooked in the first 10 minutes. First it was the quality of the game, as I described above, that got me. Then it was the story line that took over. This game bombards your senses and I strongly urge you to treat yourself to, what I hope is, the start of a new generation of Hidden Object/Puzzle/Adventure game.
This is one of the best adventure games Ive ever played, big call I know but the graphics storyline and overall game is brilliant. You go back in time to retrive a scepter to defeat your foe. Interactive map that takes you to the place you need to go, the hint is helpful and fills quickly. I absolutely recommend this game. I brought it before I finished the trial version. HOS were optional ie you could play marjong instead of the HO. I played the easiest level and it took me over 8 hours! Great weekend game.
I LOVE this game. The visual quality is like watching a movie on your computer and being able to interact and draw the conclusion of the, "movie"!! Its game play is a great level of challenge that is just right, meaning not too hard and not too easy. The hint button charges pretty quickly. A Map to get you from one former visited place to another without having to go through a, "maze" all throughout the game!! I can't find anything bad to say about this game!! It's awesome and well worth purchasing and even playing more than once!! Highly Recommended!!
Wow I can't believe the graphics on this game. This dev has really gone far to make a perfect game that plays like a movie- game. Thank-you for this challenging and delightful play.
If you are looking for a game with everything then you've found it. Totally absorbing, and with amazing graphics, and haunting music this has to be one of my favourites right now. I did need the hint button a few times, but that didn't distract from the enjoyment. Look forward to more games from this developer.
When I play the CE demo, I absolutely loved this game, but as it had no morphing or achievements, I wanted to wait for the SE. Went ahead and played demo for SE and glad I waited. This game is phenomenal. You know the secrets of the Secret Order because of your father. You are being chased by a new inductee who has used this to access the secret mask which he uses for evil. You have to bring the balance back between good and chaos and so begins your adventure. The visuals are clear, crisp and very well done. The voice overs and the music are well done. A little on the chatty side, but you learn more about the order of the griffin as you progress. The journal includes a map for travel and objectives. The hint and skip button fill quickly and the hint button can be used for directional help without having to be recharged until you get to that destination. The mini games are a little on the easy side, but may get harder and the hos had some items on the small side and a little more difficult to find. I didn't miss the strategy guide nor the extras that were standard type on the CE. A must buy, but check it out for yourself.
The cut scenes were terrific. Not too many HO scenes. Lots of puzzles. Definitely up there with MCF games. I really enjoyed it, wished it had been longer.
