CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT

Beautiful New Orleans. Mardi Gras. Sinister villains cloaked in gorgeous costumes and masks. Skeleton heads appearing in the midst of fog. People looking encased in a nylon stocking, like popped bubblegum. Sometimes surprisingly funny - like a clown exploding on a slot machine. Game is a marked contrast of attributes. The graphics are delightful and top-notch. Even the puzzles are brightly colored and superbly done. HOS are well delineated and gorgeous with good visibility. No backtracking. Unique storyline with satisfying ending. Developers put a lot of thought into making this fabulously polished game. Kudos to them. Can?t say enough good things about it. No cons. Took me 4 ?-5 hours on casual mode, taking time to look at the picturesque scenery.

Fun and challenging hidden object game

I had to reload it once to get the "fishing pole" to go together, but it was well worth it.

Good fun -- well worth price!

Shattered Minds: Masquerade is one of the better offerings from Big Fish lately. It kept me entertained throughout with a good mix of not-terribly difficult puzzles, but terrific scenery and smooth and rapid scene transfer. It was over too soon, as I was enjoying the game so much. It had a terrific spooky atmosphere and unique storyline and it being set in New Orleans was just a plus for me!

GREAT FUN Hidden object puzzle adventure!!

I REALLY enjoyed this game so much! The graphics are amazing and the storyline was excellent! There are the 2 usual modes of gameplay for this game. The hint button refills fairly quickly and the skip button fills fairlly quickly as well. The HOS are interactive, some of them are junky, but objects aren't terribly hard to find. There were too many HOS for my taste, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the game. I'm just one of those gamers that prefer fewer HOS. The puzzles range from easy to hard. I did get frustrated during one puzzle and I ended up hitting skip on that one, which I never do. I think I was probably just tired, because I had been playing non-stop for a very long time, because this game just drew me in! I really enjoyed the story and just couldn't, or wouldn't, stop playing! :-D There was some backtracking, but not so much that it got frustrating or I lost my place or forgot what my objective was. It's not a game where you find inventory items much later in the game that have to be used in areas you came through much earlier in the game. The inventory items are, for the most part, used in the general area or building where they are found! The hint button is helpful, but does not tell you exactly what needs to be done during gameplay. It will tell you if there's nothing to do in that area, but it shows a shattered glass section of the screen of an area that needs attention. The excessive clicking penalty is a fog that comes across the screen with a foggy phantom skull that laughs, which I thought was pretty cool, so I found myself clicking during HOS just to see it! :-) I can't comment on the CE, but I can say that I didn't find myself needing guidance or wishing I had the SG at all. That being said, the ending of this game was somewhat anti-climatic for me, so maybe the CE offers bonus gameplay that offers more of an ending. Don't get me wrong, the ending wasn't horrible by any means, I just felt it was somewhat lacking. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game! I loved the p

Great game.

Couldn't drag myself away to eat & sleep. Longer play than most. Many areas to explore. Really great fun.

Great, original cast of characters

There were some beautiful locations and interesting puzzles in this game, but I think its strongest point is the characters. Not giving too much away, the back story was great, and I loved the voice acting, which added so much to the personalities of these villains. The only downside to this game is that if you used an item in an incorrect place, you were stuck still holding the item, instead of it being returned to your inventory. This could have been cleaned up a bit. However, worth playing for the great story.

Loved It.

Played the trial and can't wait to buy. This game will really test your ability to think beyond the obvious. Can't review the music and such because I was really engaged in the game play. HOG easy to find, good mix of games, and game bright for easy viewing.

Loved this Game!

This is why I play HOGs. OMG this has so many HOS and they are loaded and not easy. It also has a great story. I think there are 20 objects in each HOS and they aren't repeated (although they could be). Most of the objects are really hidden well, but as you get the hang of it, finding them gets a little easier. Great designs!! The story takes place in the beautiful city of New Orleans where Visage is causing chaos and you, as the detective have to solve his plan for global fogging! Lots of scenes and every new room has a HOS. After all that's why we play these types of games. You'll love this game from beginners to pros.

Mildly Horrifying, Highly Enjoyable

A well balanced blend of HOG/Adventure with challenging puzzles of various levels of difficulty, with a few of them very innovative, and the whole lot all nicely wrapped up in a pleasant package made of a good intro, good jazzy music, good voice-overs and superb, detailed graphics, quite colorful on a dark background and all immersive. There are two Difficulty Modes. The HO Scenes are neat, though a bit of a junkpile, yet straightforward, and the HOs not too difficult to find. The Hint System refills quickly, is helpful but up to a point only as it tells you "Nothing to do here" Although most tasks are similar to those we see in other games they are good fun nevertheless. There are many locations to explore but navigation is easy and not much backtracking to do, except towards the end. However some scenes and cutscenes might a little disturbing for highly sensitive players; I will not explain why here as that would be a spoiler. The plot is pretty solid, intriguing and complex enough to make you wonder who the true bad guys are as most of the characters you encounter and interact with will try to stop you in your investigation, though many will not respond as they have fallen victims of the villain. On the downside some puzzles are lacking adequate instructions thus forcing the player to resort to the trial-and-error method. But they can all be skipped. There is no widescreen option I actually purchased the CE on BFG's Christmas wonderful 3 day deal [hope you didn't miss that !] to complete my Punch Card. The end of the SE, though abrupt, is satisfactory but the extra chapter adds more information on unanswered questions thus providing a more complete ending. Either way, both endings leave the door open for a sequel. Lengthwise, count about 5 to 6 hours for the SE, if you do not rush through it. Notes: don't miss the morphing objects. Finding 10 of them [out of 20] will unlock the "Replay Puzzles" option. The CE lets you

Takes the Cake

I waited for the S.E.After playing the trial version. I couldn.t get enough ,Played the whole game all at once,I'll rate this game in point version. Sound-was great, had to turn it down or up at times Graphics-crystal clear, stunning Voice over- well done H.O. scenes-clear and precice , not a "church rumage sale" Story line-has you guessing as to who the villian is[I was wrong] Difficulty-you decied for yourself[I consider myself very good at this type of game and at times I had to use the Hint ] Length-sorry can't say,I do so many other things at the same time[cooking, laundry, animals wanting in and out etc.] Mini games-some are easy others extremely difficult Morphing objects-there are none in the S.E., and believe me I looked,so don't bother looking[doesnt take anything away from the game. I really enjoyed this game and hope you do as well.I will replay this game ,as I know most of us do[I have a habbit of memorizing the objects so I let some time go by first] All in all it is a keeper ,,so enjoy fishes!!!
