Great Standard Edition game

I'm not a fan of the mutant plant theme, but this game was very nicely done. Really good mix of puzzles and hidden objects. Plenty to do- it took me longer to play this game than some of the collector's editions. The difficulty was perfect for me, playing in expert mode. Excellent value for a standard edition.

MMM Birthday Cake with prickly mutant vines....

....my favorite type!.... bwahaahaa. Haven't finished the game, but had to stop to write a quick review since I saw SO many negatives... to me, this is a REALLY COOL GAME; it caught me right up immediately. It's quite different and great mix of intriguing storyline; one that sort of immerses you immediately because it starts as an ordinary day and then......!? I absolutely love games that are 'outside of the box' and imaginative with something a bit unordinary to offer and this one offers a lot of that IMO. A mix of theme, puzzle, action, interactive adventure, HOG.... and beautiful graphics, both static and cut scene... truly amazing thus far. Won't be for everyone, but some will love it. I do!!

Excellent

Haven't finished the demo but knew I had to buy this. Special effects are really cool, especially after all the boring stuff from Big Fish lately. Simple sort of but really fun and entertaining.

Natural Threat 2

A very good idea for storyline - just my kind of thing. There are no ghosts or any other sort of supernatural events, like 85% of other games, which is very refreshing. It's science fiction through and through. I definitely recommend this game and I really hope there'll be a number 3 soon. Could do with an interactive map though and maybe a strategy guide.

I Love Butterflies!

This game has received less than positive reviews,so I am going to give it 5 stars! It is a great game. It kind of reminds of one those SYFY movies you can't stop watching, wondering, what if? what if plants came and took over the city. This was fun all the way.Who knew butterflies could help save the day.Play this game. It is worth at least, a free coupon.

Brilliant Story

I love the old SY-FI films, you know where some mad scientist or meteorite causes some giant plant or animal to mutate and start attacking our world. That is how our story begins as we take on the adventure of Iris, who dicovers her city over-run by giant mutated plants that are munching on anything that gets in their way. It is up to you to find family and save the day. From one of my favorite developers that got me hooked on HOPA games way back when they first came out, Natural Threat offers good sharp graphics, art-work that is wonderful with vivid colors and plenty of drama with the music. With only two modes of play, you have only a journal that belongs to Iris to keep track of events. Not eactly sophistacated when compared to many of our recent games but certainly offers great fun and entertainment. With a solid story, gameplay offers plenty of adventure mixed with a generous amount of Hidden object scenes that are junk-piled and interactive. I love some of the mini-games, especially the first HO scenes where you need to decorate the birthday cake with items you need to find. There is a bit too much hand holding with the black bar tips and HO scenes are rather challeng, ing as items are either too small or well hidden but other than that, I am big fan of these adventure games and look forward to spending this evening with this well done SE game.

What A Riveting Story - Liked It - Review Of Completed Game

This is a Sci-Fi story. You take on the role of Iris and must save your daughter Lily, husband and the city from the mutated plants that have sprung up and taken over. 2 play modes: I played Expert mode. The hint/skip take a couple of minutes for charge up and the hint is directional outside of HOS. There are some black bar tips however some things don't have them and there are NO sparkles on anything. This also has a click penalty where the game will "freeze up" for a couple of minutes. JOURNAL: Holds some story, notes, and a few puzzle clues. There is widescreen at least for me. No problem here. There is voice overs There is no map. HOS: Found by word list and slightly interactive and definitely on the Sanford & Son junkyard pile side. You also visit each scene twice but you're not doing them one right after the other. There were a couple of scenes where a couple of items were barely visible and this is where I encountered the "click penalty." Other than that no problems here. I also enjoyed decorating Lily's birthday cake. I thought that was fun. I see some didn't much care for this. I mean after all it is her birthday! LOL! PUZZLES: The usual run of the mill found in many games. There are many of them once you get more into the game. I didn't come across anything new here. I'm not a fan of these but most I found pretty easy. Skipped a couple of them. OVERALL IMPRESSION: If you haven't played the first in this series which is Natural Threat: Ominous Shores I don't think it's necessary as this game stands alone on it's own. Granted I only played 1/2 hour of that game as I just couldn't get into it but I didn't feel like I was missing anything not playing that to completion. I will say I was hesitant to download this and play since I wasn't that impressed with the first one in this series but I was pleasantly surprised especially since I'm not really a fan of the mutated plant theme but thought I'd give it a whirl anyway. I was

Refreshing change of villain!

The story, plants have taken over the world, is a welcome change from the dark and gloomy demon-resurrection tales which have become so popular. The opening scene shows a young girl on her way to school. As she walks down the driveway her favourite birthday gift, a teddy. becomes unfastened from her backpack and falls down a grate. The little girl reaches down, ("Come on teddy, take my hand") and pulls the bear up, but we are treated to a view underneath the grating where we see menacing vines reaching out to the little girl. One of the best openings I have seen in any game! 2 levels of play journal interactive, list style HOS interesting puzzles, especially the very first one! great graphics dramatic music compelling story The only downside of this game (for me) was the style of HOS. I don't particularly enjoy the lists, preferring silhouettes, FROGS or replacing objects. Having said that, I think this game would appeal to anyone looking for something a little different, especially sci-fi fans! As with any game you are thinking of purchasing, please play the demo first so you can make up your own mind.

Give It At Least 15 Minutes

BASED ON FULL DEMO FIRST IMPRESSIONS INTENSE! Some people are going to hate this game from the start. The intro cut scene is ominous and involves a child. But we get past that. It is very well done though, lovers of spooky movies will love it... The opening interactions are also likely to put off a completely different set of people if they do not give the game a chance. At first, you may find the voiceover a bit annoying, the music DEFINITELY annoying and way too upbeat, and the whole atmosphere positively trite. For example, you first task is to decorate a very cutesy birthday cake for your daughter. After the intro and the threat it presented, it seems jarring. Then the scary stuff invades this happy scene, and you ?get? its relevance. SIGHTS & SOUNDS I love graphics full of lush green tropical things, and they are here in abundance. The graphics are very clear, well drawn and eerie. It?s part photo-realism, part drawing. Done in a fashion that is pretty much out of style now, but done exceptionally well. This is, though, some of the best disaster art I?ve seen in a game. They do interesting stuff with sound. The early cut scenes are very intense, and it is because the use of sound. The screams you hear sound like real screams. The acting is very good. And disturbing. There is little music after the first scene. It is all ambient sounds. WHAT?S HAPPENING Somehow, mutant plants have suddenly taken over the city. Your daughter and her father are somewhere in the city, and you take off after them. You meet other survivors and generally help where you can, while you search for them. MAKING PROGRESS The gameplay is straightforward and easy adventure. There are HO scenes with a list and a bit of interaction and you visit them twice. Not many puzzles, all of them easy, although with some nice twists. There is a journal, no map, and directional hint. I did not find the ?getting around? at all difficult, but it is fun. FAMOUS LAST WORDS

DAY OF THE PLANTS

This was a good game I played the full 1 hour of it. The start was strange making a girls birthday cake but after that I was hoked the game went onto another world where plants ate people the company that made this game did a really good game some of the so called Collector's Editions ant as good as this game great graphic's give it a go and see for your self. I would recommend this game.
