this is just a enjoyable game to play. Not much for running around to find and uses items. The hint button works good but will not need it much. If you Love HOG this is not for you, just good adventure fun. The music is the best and has voice over. The graphics are good just not the best. The puzzles are really good and thought provoking. This is just a good fun game to relax and enjoy.
Wow! I cant believe I almost missed this gem. Fans of adventure games will definitely enjoy this thrilling ride set in a fantasy land of Namerial. A terrible Iron Lord along with his army of mechanical soldiers have taken oveer the Kingdom of Namerial, killing both the King and Queen. The only one to have ecaped is their infant dayghter and 18 years later, our adventure begins and it is now up to sto save our land and fight the forces with the help of our dear little robot Jim. An Exciting adventures without any HO scenes, many puzzles to solve and entertaining mini-games to play. Graphics are 2D animation that are bright in color and sharp. Voice-overs are well animated as is the music that keeps the sence of urgency throughout the game. Game feature two play modes, no sparkles but helpful hints do po?nt the way. A cute little robot is at your side who will fetch objects that are out of reach. You also have a mind reader gizmo that will read the minds of animals and unusual characters along the way. I loved the demo and cant wait to start over. The game is both somewhat challenging but not so much that you would need a SG. There are lots to do and achievements to earn. I almost missed this one and really am surprise that it was offered yesterday. Adventure Lovers, dont miss this game, defintiely a great time to be had. DOnt know how long it is and really dont care. I have free game credits that have been sitting around for sometime. At last, something has come along. These developers almost never disappoint!
REVIEW BASED ON COMPLETED SE VERSION Opened in widescreen [no stretching] 2 choices of play - Regular or Expert Voiceovers were well done Choice of cursor [custom cursor worked well] There are 4 tabs with symbols on them...Achievements, [which you can see before you start to play] Play, Options and Exit Only 1 profile at a time, so hubby can't play with you [ha!] I had no Tech. difficulties with the SE version NO Sparkles..Yeah Puzzles were different to the norm. some a little hard for me, but skip button filled quickly as did the hint button which led you in the right direction without showing you exactly what you had to do [which I hate with a passion] Seemed like quite a long game, but I'm a slow player and hate to use the Skip button on puzzles. Notebook on one side, as well as your 'little helper' other side is Hint and a device for reading minds [which comes into effect a little into the game] Clear graphics... Only complaint was the loading process but this wasn't enough to put me off the game Storyline : Castle is invaded by The Iron Lord and his Robots, you, with the help of 'Davincino' and other likeable characters, have to defeat the Iron Lord before he takes over completely. Imaginative and interesting game which kept me playing till late into the night. Highly recommend for Adventure Players
This game is a bit unusual, everything is mechanical and there are a ton of puzzles to fix and figure out. I did find it odd that they named the characters after similar people but changed it slightly and I'll leave that up to you to see if you can pick up on it. The Dark Lord and his robot army have taken over the palace, the King and Queen captured but not before the newborn Princess is knocked out of the loving arms of her momma, only to drop out of a window and be scooped up by her Uncle in a flying machine! It really is an interesting story and the graphics are well done (as detailed as you can get in a mechanical world). You may miss the lack of HOS but you will be busy with the many puzzles this game has to offer. Even though this is a SE there are achievements to earn. Your Uncle is an inventor so you will have a robot to fly to places you can't reach and a device that reads the mind of that ever hungry squirrel. There is no map but there is a button to take you to the previous scene, only 2 levels of difficulty and a good hint system. This is a fun game, no wow factors but for a standard edition it's worth the price, enjoy!
I almost missed this game when it was released today I am so glad I decided to download it . It has the look of Dreamscapes also by playrix that was released a short time ago But this is a fairytale with a mecanical army as the bad guys . The opening chapter is quite long but it does set the story up. The royal palace invaded the king imprisoned with only one person escaping - the new born Princess . we move foward in time and we are living with our uncle an inventor The king sends a message to find Nostramus a wise man who fortold the rise of the mechanics and may have the answer to defeat the invaders But before we can do anything the army arrives and we are imprisoned in the palace our job is to escape .Free the uncle and find Nostamus. The game plays as pure adventure NO HO's A number of challenges opening boxes doors making equipment to help in the challenge etc The hint button refils quickly .There is an added minscope we make that tells what people or animals are thinking A journal that is very usefull Help comes in the form of a cute robot called Jim and a squirrel like animal who is always hungry .There are plenty of achievments to earn For a standard game it really is worth the money I am definately going to get it !
If you liked the Syberia series then I know you will appreciate this game. I did! You have to think more than the standard HOG/ADV games out these days and I love that about this game. Well worth a game credit and more... IMO. Not as difficult & beautiful as the Syberia's games but has the same feel and skill level. I hope you try it out, as it took me about 4 hours, and then try the Syberia games if you haven't already. Have fun!!! P.S My favorite game Is Dark Parables: The Final Cinderella right now but wait for the SE. The BONUS in the CE was a complete let down. I played the main story twice, back to back, that's how much I loved it...Beautiful!!!
Thanks BFG and devs for this great game! I got a lot of fun playing it. THe puzzles are not simple, but neither is not so difficult to be skiped. Art is awesome! History is fascinating! Gameplay is on the top! There is no HO scenes.( Hooray! ) I love this game! I would like to have more games like this!
I came so close to missing this incredible game! It was the wonderful reviews from players I've come to trust that caused me to download this gem. The ONLY glitch (and it's small) is the short "loading" from scene to scene. Other than that, the sweet, funny, charming world you enter from the first to the last is so worth the time to become familiar with the game play. It's different. Unique. Colorful. Funny. The characters are totally believable! Like a great science fiction novel infused with steam punk contraptions, you just have to try it. Give it a while. You won't regret it! And it's adventure only, no HOS, which I find interesting as a change. Great puzzles which are quite doable, but they are easy to skip. But the game play itself is one long lovingly created puzzle anyway!!!
This game has a mechanical theme that is carried throughout, from the opening screen and cut scene, to the icons for "play", "options", etc. It is quite clever in its use of robots and mechanical objects to immerse you in the game world. Your uncle Davincino is an inventor who is captured by the Iron Lord's men, who also took over King George's throne and kingdom. Your are to seek out Nostramus for help. There is a diary and a quickly refilling hint button. But the "cool stuff" is a Mindscape tool crafted by your uncle, that lets you read minds of animals to figure out what they want in order to help you achieve your goal. Another cool object is your small robot buddy Little Jim, who can fly and fit into places you cannot to help you open doors and flip switches and escape from jail. There are no HOS, only mini-games that are pretty easy, but the mechanical theme is so pervasivie, it is fun to see what robots show up next. It's a buy for me!
Great quest game! Best game to date! Excellent graphics, great story line, clear understanding of what needs to be done, over all fun to play! This game kept getting better and better the more you played and had an element of surprise thoughout.
