Intro already holds you ... Sarah, a reporter, disappeared near the Black Isle Hotel, taken by a masked man. Gorgeous graphics, appealing and exciting plot, immersive atmosphere, excellent sound, totally appropriate to the story. Characters that create curiosity in this very well-developed game. Highly interactive game, in all the places there is much to do and collect, including HOS, that despite being easy, are enjoyable - you need to use inventory items. The amount of HOS is very well balanced and in different locations. Several great mini games, some known but with something extra, and some new too. 3 difficulty levels - I played advanced - no sparkles, hint fills slowly. Hint is very helpful - good assistance to the next step. It has a map too. - The differences between CE & SE: -SE does not have extra game play! In CE you have to collect 50 owls along the way - and is not always easy to find - to enter in a bonus game - another chapter with new locations, not too long but very enjoyable. -SE does not have the Strategy Guide. -SE does not have the achievements area - 21 frames come up as you progresses on the game. Well, I liked to collect along the way (owls) and the bonus is worthwhile, so I decided to purchase the CE for being more complete - worth the price. Although not very challenging, it is extremely entertaining and is already in my collection!
Who needs a walkthrough when the hint system in this game serves just as well? I love this game! Click on the map and it will take you where you need to be. The graphics are wonderful, the music is appropriate for the game and you can even use things from your inventory during a HOS. Fantastic! The puzzle games are original and interesting. You can skip the ones that you don't like or can't get through. Why buy the CE when this regular edition will do nicely? All you get with the CE is a bit of extra game play, the guide, and wallpaper. I don't need that, all I want to do is play the game. Keep up the good work, developers.
The Mystery Tracker series is my 2nd favorite behind MCF and this game is no exception. Gorgeous graphics, challenging hidden object scenes and a fairly decent story line. I will say I'm glad I purchased the collector's edition as some of the puzzles were extremely challenging and somewhat illogical to my way of thinking. Overall a great game!
Elf, the dog, was most helpful and so cute. Storyline good. Great graphics; HOS clear and mostly interactive. VOS and characters good. Nice hint system if you are stuck, tells you what to do. Puzzles were hard, had to skip a few. Sort of a macabre love story. 7 hours casual.
This was a very well made game, almost as good as the Mystery Case Files series. The live actors integrated pretty well with the backgrounds so you couldn't really tell there was a green screen (like you can in the Ravenhearst series...just saying). The storyline was interesting and the puzzles were pretty unique. I loved Elf the dog!!!! So adorable and very clever idea. I assume you get to keep him after the game since he's still in your inventory at the end lol. The map was definitely of help because the area is large and there's lots of places to go to. I didn't play the CE and I think maybe in that one you do something with all the owls you keep seeing, but in the SE (the one I played) you still see all the owls but I didn't get what the connection was. Oh well I still liked seeing them, I love owls :) The only thing I wish we could have had was a journal to keep up with all the clues because there are quite a large number of tasks you need to complete and sometimes you wouldn't find the items you need until like an hour later. I had to keep pushing the hint button to remember where to go! Also, I didn't really like the way the game ended. SPOILERS********** You spend the entire game trying to save Sarah from the man and it ends with her still with him. Made me feel like I wasted my time to be honest. But it was still great game and I had fun playing it. This was my first time playing a Mystery Trackers game I'll definitely play more in the future!
What a great surprise! Another great game from Elephant Games. Love the casual, advanced or hardcore modes. This game has Wow graphics and live action. Sound is spooky and appropriate for the game. One of the best parts is for the HOG scenes, you sometimes use an item from inventory to help you along - what a great idea. There is an info button on the puzzles which helps if you get stuff. Definitely a buy for me today!
This one is better. Has a good flow, good graphics but no voice over. The HOS are good and the puzzles are pretty much easy. The CE has things to find for enjoyment and you get rewards on others. Hint button is ok.
This is one of the best games I have played in a long time! Interesting puzzles, story line, and characters. Very entertaining. I loved it!! Highly recommend this game.
Just when I thought nothing would ever beat a crowbar along comes Elf the superdog. I won't give away spoilers but you'll know by the end of the game. Best game I've played in a long time. Graphics superb but don't slow your gameplay (I hate when the cleverness gets in the way#. Music there but not irritating. HOS fab - love that you have to fetch stuff from your inventory to complete tasks whithin them. Mini games taxing but not frustratingly so. Think I only had to skip one. Thankfully you can teleport around using the map because the back and forth was immense #that's a good thing from my point of view# Moving between scenes didn't lag too badly either. Thumbs up for another Mystery Tracker success. I didn't get the CE edition and I wonder if the owls grew in significance in the extras cos it really felt that I should have been collecting them #and i love collecting nonsense whilst completing thirty virtual marathons) Any chance I can keep the dog?
This game is 10 out of 10! Like Madame Fate, it had ALL the Best elements! It emphasized Adventure and had a well-balanced mix of things to do. Also great, it didn't "torture" you with Hidden Object games just "thrown in" like some games do. And every single puzzle made sense, were logical or the solution was near by. The inventory held many items at once, which was great, so it didn't feel cramped and linear. I'd love to see more games like this, perhaps from this team. Incredible!
