Stepping Into A 3-Dimensional Story Book!

Beautifully drawn Hidden Object Part Adventure Game set in a time of the Old World where great ships and pirates sailed the high seas. We are on land, matey, so no need for worries of sea sickness. Helpful interactive map lays out the route with areas of interest. Breath taking visuals and musical score with an interesting and mysterious plot unfolding--which I definitely favor in a game! Unique and creative additions to overall gameplay is quite refreshing and so needed in our gaming selections today. For me, enjoyed collecting coins to open "treasure chests" which furthers game progress as opposed to seeking morphing objects. Not a game to dash through as the artwork and graphics are absolutely stunning. Will definitely purchase and add to my BFG Game Collection. Thank you Devs! Awesome job! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

A Fine Addition to my Games Library!

I had the pleasure of Beta testing this game about six months ago and since then have played it again several times. I am excited to see it here today! This review is based on the demo. The story line is the tale of Captain William's poor wife Isabella, who seems to have faded away and disappeared mysteriously. While apparently the Captain fought many pirates over the years, his body is found washed up on shore, dressed as a pirate and sporting a hook where one of his hands had been. I found the artwork and graphics to be top-notch and the music suits the theme extremely well. On Casual mode the hint refills quickly and will also lead you in the right direction by telling you to check out an area. The narrator's voice was excellent and you had the option to skip if you chose. I found finding the gold coins somewhat difficult and a novel approach to gain access to items you need instead of always looking for keys. The mini puzzles were fun and not too mind-racking for me. The hidden object scenes had some great animation and were cleverly tucked into nook and crannies. Some found items had to be added to others to make them into one thing to use in your quest. All in all I have to say I heartily recommend Legacy Tales: Mercy of the Gallows.

Full marks!!!

Never have I felt a game deserved full marks... until this one. Graphics are so well done and life-like that I feel I could reach out and actually feel the cold wetness of water in a bucket, or grasp a solid door handle. HOS scenes are challenging enough to keep me paying attention to all the details, but not so full that it becomes tedious, and they switch it up a lot with it not always being just a list of words. The storyline and how its told, has my full interest, so I'm not skipping through dialogue, and it makes for a very deep interaction. LOVE the coins and chests! Finally there are special items to search for in each room, as extras, that aren't just for collecting trophies in an achievement room -- the coins are necessary to game play. Could go on and on, but will just say that this game has raised the bar for HOS adventures!

Beautifully rendered! Wonderful story!

This is my first review despite being a BF gamer for over 7 years. This was an absolute joy to play! The storyline is great, especially when you get to the extra chapter. Mini games are fun & in keeping with the era the game is in. All scenes are beautifully rendered with wonderful detail. Map is a huge help. Clues are good without giving anything away. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this one.

Aye, Tis a Pirate's Tale, but a New One Indeed

This game is different and very entertaining. Don't expect a normal pirate game: this story is new and unusual. The narrator tells the tale of a beautiful, happy couple whose active, social lives had disintegrated into misery. First, she disappeared. Then years later, his body washes ashore dressed as a pirate, with a hook for one of his hands! As we investigate their fate, an interactive map guides us through five levels of the grounds and rooms of their once-luxurious, but now rat-infested home, there are loads of HOs and puzzles, numerous gates and doors to unlock in various ways, and coins scattered throughout every scene. The coins open up chests to reveal key objects to solving the mystery. This game has everything, and it's fun to boot! I recommend it highly. The voice talent is top-notch and I loved the soundtrack..a haunting soprano who seems to be wailing and mourning the fate of the sad couple. Thanks, Big Fish. I love this game!

Captains wife disappears, was he a pirate ?

Played 35 minutes, normal mode - 2 modes, normal, casual - You have to click on menu to access the SG but you don't exit the game - 9 chapters, 3 bonus ones - Notebook - You sometimes have to combine items in your inventory to get an object - Interactive map - Voice over - In some areas you can move your cursor left or right to move in the scene - Throughout the game you collect coins that you need to open different chests, in them are items that you need - In normal mode, you can see on the map where there are coins, don't know if they show in casual - Hint takes a while to refill, even in normal mode (over a minute), it's useful outside H0 - Skip button - Interactive H0 - Mini games are easy up to what I played - Excellent graphics - Good music Captain Williams used to sail all over the world with his beloved wife. She's seen less and less and then disappears. One day the corpse of the captain is washed ashore, dressed as a pirate. You investigate. I'll be going against the majority as I have loved what I played, it's a very intriguing story, there are a lot of clever things to achieve, the graphics are superb, it's an instant buy for me.

HAVE MERCY!

It probably won't matter what I write on this review because of being on the last page, but never the less, here it is. This is a great game although I did notice a few glitches here and there it didn't interfere with the gameplay. I really liked the feature of finding coins in each scene that are used when you come across treasure chests containing various items. There is a map for speedy travel as well as indicating areas of interest and coins available. Some of the items you find will have a plus sign next to it indicating that it will need to be combined with another item before using. The HOS are interactive and fun, in one scene when you click on one cabinet door several open, when you click on a different door some shut while others open! When you become engrossed in a game so much that you want to play.....just a little longer...then you know it's a big fish keeper and that's exactly what will happen when you play this game. Enjoy!

hidden object games

despite bad reviews i found this game to be very good once you get into the castle graphics are not dark and dismal . hidden object games are well done and varied.overall i am pleased that i purchased this game it also seems that it will be a good length

What Price Love?

Judging by other reviews, this certainly turned out to be a love it or hate it game. I have to say I am on the love it side. When I find myself wanting to actually complete every aspect of a game, meaning actually finding ever HO in a scene, not hitting hint when there is only one item left, it's a very good indication! I admit I am pokey, so I had many hours of entertaining game play. The balance of puzzle to HO to adventure was excellent. The puzzles, although not mind bending, included some unique presentations. The HO scenes were a good mix of list, interaction, find pairs, silhouettes. Finding coins seemed to get easier; partly because many scenes were not as dark as the initial ones. The artwork, if studied a bit, was remarkable in many aspects. The bonus concept art gives an enlightening presentation. The story, all the way through the bonus chapter was engaging enough to keep my interest. As I said in my initial review of the demo, there is a lot of "game" in this game. The quick travel map is very helpful. It does show where there are things to accomplish at some point, but it is not a walk through by any means. Even black bar info only gives the most modest of clues. Perhaps for a CE the game was not chock full of extra content. I never used the strategy guide. The music was fitting for the atmosphere, but nothing I would save. I am often interested in the concept art, but it is never why I would pay double. The 3 bonus chapters are actually played as one, and again, I was engaged for what seemed quite a bit of time. Nice to have saved a bit of money with the sale, but I got even the regular price worth of pleasure working through the intricacies of this game.

excellent adventure game

this is an excellent game and the childish portraits and main page do not do it credit. The game play is long and varied with many things to collect in order to proceed. The HOPs are also varied with silouettes, HOPs and also pairs. The puzzles may not be too difficult but they are amusing and interesting. There is an integrated map for jumping around and I especially like the fact that the menu was tucked away to the side. You collect coins throughout in order to unlock chests which is fun. I recommend a buy as many hours of fun.
