A Match 3 that really gives you some challenges.

Most comments I hear about match 3 games are "not much variety, its all the same, match 3 or more of the same symbols". This is where this game is so different. All the different types of challenges like lighting fires, trapping monkeys, limited number of moves etc all keep you interested and challenged. (sometimes frustrating, those sneaky monkeys keep escaping. lol) I have played this game over and over again and never seem to get bored with it, and keep trying to better my score or speed. Definately a winner and great value for money.

Nice variety of boards

I really enjoyed this entry in the Jewel Quest series. This one has a lot of boards and many interesting challenges to deal with - lighting, monkeys, empty spaces etc. The storyline appears in short scenes that can be skipped. There is an untimed mode, which I appreciate, especially with the monkeys. The graphics are good, the story is interesting. It is a fun game.

Great JQ game

If you haven't tried this one, it's a must. The regular JQ game, match 3. Has several different M3 boards, some challenging even for the most avid M3 player. Well worth buying. As far as the story line, I always skip and turn my sound way down, so that's why you only see an ok on those.

Go for Gold on this one!

Best JQ I've played so far. Good storyline, great puzzles. Went thru twice and till I got 5 stars on all puzzles! A true challenge!

.Very challenging this game lasts a long time.

This is a great game. I ordered it about 8 months ago and still trying to get all the levels "gold" Need more Jewel Quest games like this.

Great Game and very, very challenging

This game is NOT for the casual Match 3 player... I nearly tossed my keyboard at the screen a couple of times (those *%&*#$&##* monkeys!!!!)... Most difficult Match 3 I've played but very enjoyable and provides hours and hours of fun.... It's one I play for a while and then put aside for another day.... You won't be bored with this one, believe me!

Worthy addition to the Jewel Quest series

Pros: timed/untimed modes, varied challenges, good storyline Cons: may run slowly, frustration factor The fifth game in the Jewel Quest match 3 series features some of the M3 gameplay seen in previous JQ games along with new challenges such as boards with hidden spaces to uncover and new obstacles to defeat. This is also the first JQ M3 to offer a true untimed mode, although it must be enabled first. There are powerup artifacts to collect as you progress as well as a board ranking to earn on each board. The storyline is played out in cutscenes in between boards and is skippable if players wish, but is very watchable. A nice feature is that the story continues to update itself in popup pictures that appear to the left of the jewel boards as they are being played, and the shape of the jewel board itself is often relevant to the part of the story depicted. I gave 4 stars only for two things. First, there is no option to disable high detail for the graphics in the game options. It's nice that the jewels now disappear in puffs of smoke for instance, but players with older computers or those with less sophisticated graphics cards may experience slow play action on some board styles. Another is that slower players will likely find themselves getting frustrated on particular game stages that require a quick thinking/quick clicking strategy to win even in untimed mode. On the other hand, long time JQ junkies might find this installment overly easy if they play with all the help enabled. But still, it's a worthy addition to the Jewel Quest legacy.

Jewel Quest: The Sleepless Star

Excellent storyline. Beautiful graphics. A variety of boards and challenges keeps the gameplay interesting. On some boards, cutscenes are added to the left as the jewel board is being played, with the shape of the board matching the story. When you fail several boards, you are given the artifact for untimed play, but can only earn one star while in use. Kudos to anyone who is able to earn the elusive gold star on all the chapters. I only earned gold on Chapters One-Two-Three-Four as the boards were much too challenging to earn gold on Chapters Five-Six, even with the help of the turtle (time) or bird (points).

Yeah, I enjoyed it.

I've played this game around 3 times now, each time trying to beat my old score. I found the story line interesting and the characters likeable (and there is even LOVE for Percy at the end). The graphics and music are fine. When I've finished a big, grunty adventure and/or hidden object game and just want to chill out for a while before I start on the next one, then good old Jewel Quest games are great as they are not too challenging (except for the friggin monkeys! - watch them). Anyway I think you would enjoy the game - I did.

interesting gameplay

No classic game. But still enjoyable. A little slow on my computer therefore comes after a short time on frustration.
