AFERON - BigFishGames
This is a title my wife and I picked up in one of the Big Fish sals. While not the most original game out there, it was a decent diversion from the usual plotlines of most hidden object games. The story, while sometimes predictable, it kept our interest. Some of the items to find where very small and tough to find, but it is sometimes good to have more of a challenge in this genre. The graphics were OK, but I was not a real fan of the art used for the characters
I hoped to give five stars here to encourage more love story games on Big Fish but it was a bit simple...though that IS part of this game's charm. I rate it 4 stars for its ease-of-flow and the FUN of the "spot the differences" puzzle pages and the lovely eastern music. There were a few too many HOs but they were alright except some items were tiny *Owie on my eyes* Overall, I enjoyed this pleasant game, though, because I want to play love story games....since life is not always about werewolves, ghosts, asylums, guns!! heh PS. The prince was hunky YaY.
WHEN THERE IS DRAMA,SUSPENCE, AND LOVE ALL IN ONE.WE CAN'T GO WRONG.I GREW UP WITH HARLEQUIN.ALWAYS WANTED MY PRINCE CHARMING.THE PLOT WAS GOOD AND THE DETAIL IN FINDING THE OBJECTS.I BOUGHT IT AND WILL PLAY IT AGAIN.
I enjoyed playing the game and reading the bonus romance e-novel that came with the game (although the e-novel had a different plot and heroine from the game albeit a similar setting). People who like playing uncomplicated (i.e. no inventory and collecting of tools in one scene to use in another scene) HO games and don't mind the predictable story-line (it's a romance after all so you can tell what's going to happen in the end) are likely to enjoy this game. Those who like an exciting plot or challenging game play will probably not enjoy this game. The scenes are suitably exotic looking and the hidden objects are mostly quite easy to find, so the game is quite stress-relieving and good for passing the time, especially if you play in relaxed mode. Hints are sufficient and the hint button recharges quickly enough. The mini-games are skippable and you can also choose to disable the plot for those who want to replay the game.
the reviews I read for this game almost had me not try it. I am glad I went with my gut and did. yes it is a very easy hog, but it was fun, with a cute story that wasn't gory, violent, or bloody. it is not a long game, I finished in about 90 minutes, and the game did not require me to have to search for little things that can be sometimes hard to find. I found it was a nice change of pace from the hog that require you to backtrack for items, have to find tiny items. have to put items together to have them work. I find this is a good game for children, and for adults who are looking to relax and not have to spend a lot of time looking for items that are hard to find. I will have to say the price was one of the reasons I was also willing to try it. I did get it on sale, which made it worth the try. if your looking to just relax and not have to spend a lot of time and patience looking then I would say this little game is a good one for you. also, if you have children who are getting into the hog games this would idea for them to play. if it had been longer I would have given it a 5. I also play with the sound off, so I can not give you a honest score on the sound quality, but the visual quality was fine in being able to find the items without squinting, and being able to read the story as it was posted.
Graphics: The graphics were nice and clear so you didn't have any trouble. Granted, the graphics aren't the best but they were very simple. Music: This game had some interesting music but I thought the music really added to the exotic atmosphere of the game. Puzzles/HOS: The HOS and puzzles were very basic and easy so there isn't much of a challenge here. Story: An American reporter, Allie, and her photographer/partner, Shaun, are sent on assignment to Aristo to report on the coronation of the prince but things don't go as smoothly as they thought with theft and assassination plots and also the blooming of love. Overall: This is a nice HOG which is more story based so there isn't much challenge. I would recommend this game if you are looking for a game that you can just sit back and relax. Also one of the benefits of this game is that you get a free book...pretty cool deal. Happy Gaming :)
And I am sure you will love this HO game! Lots of them! Good story and just had a good, relaxing time playing this one! No pressures!
I just love this game with the plot line and hidden objects and love. It's just perfect!
This was just screen after screen of hidden object with very little else going on/not a lot of puzzles between the hidden object scenes. I didn't think it was too short or so easy that it was boring. It is just very relaxing. Cute romantic theme. If you like lots of hidden object scenes then this is the game for you. There are some puzzles but not as many as usual for this kind of game.
First, let me say that I enjoy reading romance novels. This is kind of like reading a romance novel! But with not so many words. This is a pure hidden object game, which I also love. Hidden object scenes are mostly within a fancy hotel. There are about 10 to 15 things to find and it is pretty easy to find them. If you find a harlequin symbol, your hint meter will refill instantly. Hint meter fills up pretty fast, anyway. I like how bright and clear the hidden object scenes are and the storyline is very cute!
