Spooky, including realistic thunder and rain. Artistry looks handdrawn and there are many beautiful locations. Your journal includes story and objects, with up to 4 hints to narrow what to do to achieve objectives if stuck. I like this method of hints rather than have the game just point out what you have to do right away. Sometimes a little nudge is all the help I need to feel smarter solving a problem if I still have to do most of the work myself. Story is skillfully told and it?s obvious that a lot of work went into bringing all the pieces together into well-constructed gameplay. HOS are very nicely done and the puzzles vary in variety and difficulty. Won?t bother going into more details as others have already done so. CE vs. SE: Wondering whether you should get the CE or the SE? The CE has, of course, a bonus game. It also has the e-book you can download to your reader or as a pdf if you haven?t read the story. The concept art is very nicely done ? it has much more detail than most concept arts included in games. There is a sketch of what the location is to look like, for example, in black and white ? then there is a fully colored version of what it will look like in the game. I liked the ability to see how the sketch came to life. The behind-the-scenes in making the video was also very well done. I found it most interesting to see the actual people involved and what their contributions were. What? No women work there?
I thought this game was great! The primary aspects of the game were spot on! The storyline was an interesting one. The costar asks you for help in righting a wrong he is responsible for. But sometimes with great responsibility comes sacrifice. But he is still helpful, along with the other souls of the village, in helping you to put the villian back where he belongs. There is no interactive map. But it's not so bad without one. Your task list serves as a diary with hints that you can click on to show you where you need to perform a task, or where you need to use an inventory item. The hint button is not really necessary to use unless you have a problem finding an item in the HO scenes. The mini games were fairly easy to complete. The visuals were sharp and beautifully made. Overall, this is a good game to play and buy. Well worth the cost and the bonus punch!
I loved this game and bought it right away....I don't sit and play for hours so this lasted a few days....Nice hint -refilled fast. Hidden Object scenes were not cluttered and disappeared from the scene once you found them....Over all a nice game with a nice ending and great story.
This is a more "old fashioned " game- the graphics are not as sophisticated as some newer games, but having said that, I really enjoyed. It was a sweet surprise, the story was fun, the challenge good and even though there were a few more HOG than I would have liked, I still loved it. I definitely recommend it
the hint/skip button charges really fast. no map. not really needed. there is a diary. played casual. no sound. this is based on a book i have never read it so i don't know how much it followed the book. the guy in the game brought back his ancestor and then the ancestor had to have people's souls to continue to live in the present time, but the descendent had no idea this was going to happen. is set up for a sequel. HO scenes are very plain. had no problem finding things. not too dark and dreary. things that had to be done were pretty straight forward way.
Really enjoyed this game. I've noticed, like several other reviewers, several games have no backgound music. I won't buy a game with no music in the background, something I hadn't paid a lot of attention to until I downloaded one with utter silence in the background. I didn't finish the sample. This game has it all, really good graphics, music, and story line. Hope u keep these coming. Worth buying.
Very nice. Excellent journal. HO scenes not bad, which I really like as I want to get on with the story. Good variety of puzzles, not too hard, not too easy. Nice voice over. Unlike some other comments, I liked the graphics!! But..... my favourite..... the sound effects. Turn out the lights when you play this game. Much more effective. The only thing that annoyed me was the SUDDEN ending. This game is certainly worth buying.
This was the first game I played in the Hidden Object genre and I absolutely loved it!The graphics are superb and the storyline was an A+ in my book. This is based on the SE.If you're looking for a relaxing game, definitely get this game. It's well worth the money.
I must say not as exciting as games from, Mystery Trackers. But I like it a lot. I like when their a lot of HO's. I especially like it when, you pick one and, another appears. I hate bugs and snakes etc. Nice to see none of these so far. I hope to see some of the top game provider to do more games. Many of us wait for theirs.
For the person who really loves a lot of HO scenes. Good story. Graphics and music were fine.
