This game got me hooked on M3s. I was a RPG player for years, then HOGs, now M3s too. This game combines them all in 1! I hope when they do the sequel they keep the RPG factor in and perhaps a little more challenging. No timer, great story, graphics etc. Try this game, you'll love it! It's one of my top 10 fav of ALL time and years as a gamer.
This Match 3 has it all! Beautiful graphics, interesting and involved story line and builds up the power ups and differences between levels. As an added bonus there is timed or untimed modes. On replay value it comes up trumps as you do want to revisit the unique game play and graphics. There is something magical about it as opposed to your usual run-of-the-mill Match 3.
Wonderful game - very unique. Give it a try!
Cave quest is just excellent !! + : Real story, not just Match 3 games, fun, fast , reactive, not too easy (timed mode) - : NOOOTHING at all. Already gagging for Cave Quest 2
I loved the different challenges within the game, not just a match 3 games. Played it with great gusto! It was challenging enough to keep me entertained and engaged, but not so challenging that I wanted to give up.
Within the first level I was hooked, I hope they make a 2nd one. You will NOT be disappointed.
This game has it all! A variety of match 3 types An adventure A good story Colorful graphics Lots of tasks Match 3's are timed for challenge or un-timed for a relaxed experience Tons of play time I was amazed at how much fun it was, and how immersed I got in every aspect of the game. All those elements come together for an absolutely delightful good time.
This is one of the most delightful match 3 games I've played in awhile. Big Plus - you can choose Timed or Relaxed. The storyline is simple but fun, the match 3 graphics are colorful and creative, and sounds are pleasing to the ear. While there are items to find on the quest, they are easy to get, the storyline is clear and the story path is fun to follow as each step takes you to a new match 3 board. The m3 boards have you following a path, matching ittems to clear the path, which gets progressivle more challenging as new elements enter into play. I thought clearing away the gloom was fun and different, as well as other similar things to overcome. Just enough to be challenging without getting in the way of the fun. Only one caveat - it's not terribly long, and there is little replay value. It would have been nice if the developers had added the possibility to play some boards just for fun once the game was done. Still, I rate it as one of the best! And a big thank you to the developers for offering a Relaxed mode.
This review is based on the iPhone version... Yes it is listed as free but then you get so far and you have to pay for it to be able to continue. This is not a problem because all the bf iPhone games are like that. I have troubles finding decent games to play on my iPhone due to the small screen and my not-so-great eye sight. So this is a definite recommendation for those of you who own an iPhone. This is an adventure game where you have to rescue your family by going to different locations in a mountainous village. To do this you need to find objects you have to use to gain other objectives along the way. Gaining some of those objects require you to play some Match 3s. The M3s are enjoyable with enough obstacles to keep you playing. You have the choice of timed or relaxed and I played the relaxed version which was good since I ended up stumbling in a few spots - but that's just me. While there was some challenge (for me at least), I did find this game fun. The graphics are well done but then I am a fan of the drawn graphics in games. Either way, the quality is very good. As for the sounds... what I heard of them when I didn't have the phone muted (not the game but the phone)... they seem to be nicely done. One of the things I really did like about this game is that the graphics aren't too small on the iPhone. Yes, some of the scenes were dark but, with the use of a stylus, I had no trouble seeing, finding and playing the game. All in all, I do recommend this game. I enjoyed it, hated having to leave it to do other things and plan on buying the pc version as well.
A fabulous game that combines adventure, matching, and hidden object with wonderful graphics and an interesting storyline. The adventure part is a discovery of various quest items that are then returned to various people and locations in the village and mountains. I usually find such games to be convoluted and confusing, but this storyline made sense and was doable without resorting to numerous hints. But the real treat is the matching part. I think a matching game should have beautiful icons and an attractive board -- or why bother? This game is over the top in that respect, with a lot of creativity and unique challenges, such as matching to fight an evil vapor. In another game, you play against an evil mountain spirit. Each matching game is a little bit different. But I really enjoyed the "tunnel" matching games. You match and explode icons so two hats with beacons can move from the tunnel entrance to the end, avoiding obstacles and collecting helpful items. Unique, creative, and a lot of fun! Cave Quest is my new favorite matching/hidden object game!
