Review based on non-cheated timed mode. This game is the follow up to Plan it green. Instead of a town this time you improve a whole island. Again, there are different districts to improve from existing pollution to bring in tourists and make inhabitants happy. In addition to that you learn a little bit how to live greener yourself - a very important point, especially for countries who put economy in front of ecology. Differences to the first game: - Finishing levels in timed mode nets you coins, which can be used for cheats that make the game easier or even more difficult. - Catastrophes like floods or hurricanes that have to make you repair your buildings (unnerving!). - Buildings do not carry over to the next level. (I liked the old version better.) Bottom Line: The intent of the game was well meant and is important, however, in my opinion the first game was better than this.
This game has a really good level of challenge. Some missions are really easy but others I had to repeat several times before I found a strategy that works. You can also choose how challenging to make it, by playing in 'relaxed' mode with as much time as you need, or playing 'timed' mode where you have a certain number of game days to complete the mission objectives. The storyline is simple but I prefer it that way. A beautiful island has been destroyed by the demands of tourism and industry, and you have to make it environmentally friendly again. The only negative for me was that buildings are sometimes randomly destroyed by hurricanes or other freak weather conditions. I found it an unnecessary annoyance and would usually just restart the mission if it happened too much.
I like this game especially because you can play it a second time or more and earn 'credits' to buy upgrades that make the game easier or harder as you prefer and feel capable of.enjoyable feel good game!
